Lynda.com is a leading provider of online learning that covers thousands of self-paced training tutorials on a wide variety of topics, including information technology, marketing, business, and workplace skills like presentations, leadership skills and career development.
On August 12, 2019. Lynda.com upgraded to the new LinkedIn Learning platform.
LinkedIn Learning features the same great video library from Lynda.com, which means that you'll be able to pick up your learning right where you left off.

What to expect after the upgrade?
The first time you log in to LinkedIn Learning, you must follow a series of steps to activate your new LinkedIn Learning account. These instructions will vary depending on whether you are an existing Lynda.com user or a new user.
Follow these steps to activate your LinkedIn Learning Account:
- You should have received an activation email from LinkedIn Learning. Open the email and click Get started now.
- Log in with your St. Clair One username and password.
- You will be the asked if you would like to connect your LinkedIn account (new or existing) to your LinkedIn Learning account. You also have the option of creating a LinkedIn Learning account without connecting to your LinkedIn account.
Option 1: Don't connect to your LinkedIn account
- Select Continue without LinkedIn then confirm your choice by selecting Do not connect my account.
- Select the set of skills you are interested in learning to personalize your account.
That's it! You now have access to LinkedIn Learning and your history and other data from Lynda.com has moved over.
Option 2: Connect to your LinkedIn account
- If you have an existing LinkedIn account, select Connect my LinkedIn account. Enter your LinkedIn username and password and accept the privacy policy.
- Select the set of skills you are interested in learning to personalize your account.
That’s it! You now have access to LinkedIn Learning and your history and other data from Lynda.com has moved over.
- Open LinkedIn Learning
- Log in with your St. Clair One username and password.
- You will be asked if you would like to connect your LinkedIn account (new or existing) to your LinkedIn Learning account. You also have the option of creating a LinkedIn Learning account without connecting to your LinkedIn account.

That’s it! You now have access to LinkedIn Learning.
Frequetly Asked Questions
You are not required to have a LinkedIn account to use LinkedIn Learning. And if you do have a LinkedIn account, you don’t have to connect it to your LinkedIn Learning account.
- You get personalized course recommendations. LinkedIn Learning suggests courses you might like based on the job and industry you have listed in your LinkedIn profile.
- You can display achievements: When you complete a course on LinkedIn Learning, you can add your certificate of completion on your LinkedIn profile, along with the skills associated with the course.
- You have access through LinkedIn. When you’re logged in to LinkedIn, you can open LinkedIn Learning from the LinkedIn menu.
Easiest way to log into LinkedIn Learning is through the myStclair Portal and select the tile LinkedIn Learning.
The activation link you may have received in your email will expire after 14 days. Please contact IT Services if you need to activate your account after this time.
In addition, if you would like your Lynda.com learning history/data to carry over to LinkedIn Learning, you must activate your account by Aug 12, 2020.
You only have access to LinkedIn Learning while you are a student, staff, or faculty member at the College. If you want to continue using LinkedIn Learning after you leave, you can purchase your own individual license.
If you connected your LinkedIn Learning account with your LinkedIn profile, you will retain your course history even if you no longer have a license.
You can disconnect your LinkedIn profile from your LinkedIn Learning account at any time by contacting the Customer Service team.
