With more and more adult students coming back to school to obtain additional credentials or to change career direction, it's not a great surprise that the top medal winners in the 2008 graduating class are mature students. They're focused and they know what they want out of their program. They are also motivated to not only succeed but to help their fellow classmates excel as well.

Governor General's medal winner Lindsay McAfrey was accutely aware of what she had to do to succeed. She came into the Advertising program with a diploma in Journalism and says having one credential under her belt helped her to focus on what it was going to take to succeed. "I was geared to what to expect in the classroom so that allowed me to expand my learning experience into other areas like competitions and helping other students," says McAfrey.

More than 1,900 students graduated at the 41st Annual Convocation Ceremonies held at the Chrysler Theatre June 13 - 14, 2008.
